At the 2012 Beijing Motor Show we've introduced a new identity and new addition for the DS line. Say hello to the ultra sleek, ultra modern hybrid concept: Numéro 9.

Philosophy
With the DS line in its DNA, Numéro 9 is a new vision of luxury and refinement. The distinctive 'shooting brake' shape is complimented by 21" wheels and an original light signature. Beneath the assertive exterior lies a charisma made up of exceptional finishes and our Créative Technologie.

Design
Born in Paris, fashion capital of the world, Numéro 9 has a refined presence, signalling a new era for the DS line.

In classic DS style, Numéro 9 is crowned with a floating roof bearing the DS monogram, combined with a sleek body and fine, detailed touches. Deep blacks and subtle shades of 'whisper' purple blend perfectly with the chrome finishes.

Technology
Onboard Numéro 9 is the creative union of a petrol or diesel engine with an electric motor at the rear. Using lithium-ion batteries, the electric motor develops 70bhp and 200Nm of torque. It's also fully charged in just three and a half hours from a household socket.

Environment
As a plug-in hybrid, the Numéro 9 has been specifically designed to be environmentally-friendly. This is especially true in city driving, using ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode, offering a range of over 30 miles. On roads requiring frequent acceleration and deceleration, the hybrid system limits fuel consumption by drawing on both energy sources. The internal-combustion engine kicks in on the motorway, developing an impressive 295bhp with no detriment to fuel consumption (166mpg) or CO2 emissions (39g/CO2).
