AIRDREAM, THE ECO-LABEL

As a responsible vehicle manufacturer, we are the European leader in low CO2 emissions. In 2007, underlining its long-term commitment, Citroën launched its own eco-label: ‘Airdream’.

To receive the Airdream label, vehicles must satisfy three criteria:
1) Emit no more than 140g of CO2 per kilometre.
2) Be produced in an ISO 14001 certified plant. All production sites meet the demanding standards of ISO 14001 certification (fewer nuisances, continuous improvement, etc.).
3) Be 95% recoverable. Traceability, recovery and dismantling. All steps are taken to recover vehicle materials for energy.

European leader

Citroën is a benchmark brand in a group that is European leader in low CO2 emissions. With the Citroën C1, which emits just 106g ofCO2/km, Citroën leads the way in ecological and economical vehicles with market share of 23% in the segment of vehicles emitting 110g of CO2/ km or less.
In the classification published by the ADEME (France's Environment and Energy Management Agency) in 2009 for sales in 2008, the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group  ranked first among vehicle manufacturers in Europe with average CO2 emissions of 140 g/km.

A key part of our strategy is to develop technologies that respect the environment, as illustrated by the wide availability of the HDi diesel Common Rail system. These engines cut CO2 emissions by 20% compared with conventional engines.
