  • World debuts for Citroën Technospace concept, Hybrid Air technology & New C3
  • DS line represented by new models including DS3 Cabrio, limited edition DS4 Electro Shot & a special DS3 Racing to celebrate Citroën’s WRC achievements
Citroën continues to demonstrate its passion and drive for innovation at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show this March with world debuts of new models, concepts and breakthrough technologies - alongside a showcase of the brand’s latest achievements.

The Citroën stand will play host to the world debuts of Citroën Technospace - an MPV concept that heralds the future C4 Picasso; the newly restyled Citroën C3; two new limited edition DS models and Hybrid Air technology, a unique system developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën and Bosch®, which is being demonstrated at the show in the form of a unique C3 prototype.

These, and a range of other exciting Citroën products, will be displayed on the Citroën stand in Hall 6 from 5 to 17 March.

Citroën Technospace

With the Xsara Picasso, C4 Picasso, Grand C4 Picasso and C3 Picasso, Citroën has asserted itself as one of the leaders in the compact MPV segment. Since 1999, the brand has sold almost 3 million Picassos.

Now Citroën is entering a new phase in the sector by revealing the Technospace concept, which points to the future C4 Picasso. A demonstration of Citroën’s ‘Créative Technologie’, the new concept ushers in a new era with;
  • A record CO2 emissions level of 98g/km, achieved thanks to the new Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2), which features efficient architecture and minimises weight.
  • Multiple technologies for enhanced comfort, including a full-touch driving interface with a high-definition 12-inch panoramic screen.
  • Previously unseen proportions that combine compact size (length: 4.43m/width: 1.83m/height: 1.61m) with standard-setting interior space and class-leading boot capacity (537-litres VDA).
  • Strong, expressive design with dynamic lines and high-tech headlamps complemented by 3D-effect tail lights inspired by the latest Citroën concept cars.
  • A stylish new cabin design with a bright, uncluttered layout and high-quality materials.
Appearing with a new satin effect ‘Nuance Anisée’ body colour, Citroën Technospace boasts unprecedented proportions and style that is both dynamic and compact. The assertive front end incorporates a new chevron design, which extends right across the bonnet. At the rear, the new 3D-effect tail lights  - inspired by the Tubik, Survolt and Revolte concepts - are engaging and futuristic.

Inside, the spacious cabin is bright and airy - thanks to a panoramic windscreen and glass roof - with suede and microfibre upholstery that promotes comfort and durability. The storage spaces are practical and thoughtfully designed. The boot has a class leading capacity of 537-litres VDA.

Citroën Technospace offers a first class travelling experience for all occupants. There is a ‘relaxation’ seat for the front passenger, complete with an extendable leg rest and there are ‘relaxation’ headrests on all seats for optimum neck support. Both the driver and front passenger also benefit from massaging front seats.

The concept’s new 100% touchscreen driving interface is simple, intuitive, ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing with a stylised layout structured around two screens - a 7-inch touchscreen and a 12-inch HD widescreen.

The 7-inch screen features just seven touch-sensitive buttons to control all functions including climate control, navigation and radio, while the 12-inch HD widescreen displays essential driving information such as navigational information or driving advice. Drivers can even upload photos to personalise the display.

A portal, called Citroën Multicity Connect, with a wide range of apps can also be accessed through the 7-inch screen. These apps can help the driver locate the nearest fuel station, hotel or restaurant and can even provide weather forecasts.

Hybrid Air

A full-hybrid solution combining a petrol engine, compressed air and hydraulic power, Hybrid Air delivers exceptional performance with fuel economy in excess of 94mpg (less than 3l/100km) and no additional batteries, ensuring;
  • A reduced environmental footprint
  • More affordable pricing
  • No impact on cabin space
The unique and revolutionary Hybrid Air system was developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën in cooperation with the Bosch® Group and draws from the Citroën brand’s historic expertise of hydraulic systems for cars.

Hybrid Air combines proven sub-systems and technologies including a PureTech petrol engine, a compressed air energy storage unit, a hydraulic pump/motor unit and an automatic transmission with an epicyclic gear train.

An intelligent electronic management system manages input from the driver to optimise energy efficiency with three operating modes;
  • Air power, with zero emissions
  • Petrol power, using just the combustion engine
  • Combined power, with the combustion engine and hydraulic motor working together
Hybrid Air combines all of the technologies, relying on the intelligent electronic management unit to switch continuously between the three operating modes. Optimising energy efficiency in this way cuts fuel consumption and allows the system to recharge the energy storage unit with compressed air.

Citroën C3 Hybrid Air

On the Citroën stand at the Geneva show, the brand will showcase a C3 VTi 82 prototype fitted with this new technology. The Citroën C3 Hybrid Air produces CO2 emissions of just 69g/km with fuel consumption reduced by a third to achieve a record-breaking 97mpg over a combined cycle. In urban driving, fuel consumption and CO2 are reduced by 45% compared with a vehicle solely fitted with the same internal combustion engine.

Alongside the Hybrid Air technology, the prototype on show also features a number of specific characteristics including;
  • New Michelin® tyres with specific sizing (165/50 R 18) that cut fuel consumption by almost 0.2l/100km and are designed with a particularly large diameter and a reduced width for lower rolling resistance, weight and noise
  • Specific colours and materials, with specially tinted wheels, exterior door mirror housings and headlights
The C3 prototype also features a ‘car scan’ function that shows all the workings of the Hybrid Air technology.

New Citroën C3

The newly restyled Citroën C3 will also make its world debut in Geneva. This latest version, which will be launched in the early summer of 2013 in the UK, reasserts the model’s unique qualities with;
  • ‘Créative Technologie’ in the shape of the panoramic Zenith Windscreen, a proven success with customers that provides best-in-class visibility
  • Efficient engines to deliver CO2 emissions as low as 87g/km with the option of the new PureTech petrol powerplants bringing 15% more power and a 25% reduction in fuel consumption
  • More personality with assertive styling, a revitalised front end and new tail lights
  • Even more occupant comfort with revised upholstery and new equipment including a reversing camera
The DS Line, even more exclusive & even more appeal

With more than 300,000 sales worldwide in less than three years, Citroën’s DS line is an expression of luxury and sophistication with unique styling and distinctive appeal. Citroën continues to explore and evolve the DS line with new models, special editions and exclusive versions on display at the Geneva Motor Show.

Citroën DS3 Cabrio

Launched in the UK this March, New Citroën DS3 Cabrio boasts all the hallmarks and thrills that have made the hatchback so successful - bold styling, sophisticated refinement, extensive personalisation and a thoroughly enjoyable driving experience - combined with the pleasure of al-fresco motoring.

Leading the way for occupant space, DS3 Cabrio is the only five-seater in its class and features the biggest boot in the segment at 245-litres VDA. The electrically operated folding roof can be fully opened or closed at speeds of up to 75mph and takes just 16 seconds to fully close. Top down driving has never been so easy.

The soft-top roof adds to the wide range of personalisation features available with a choice of designs: Black, Infinite Blue and Moondust Grey DS Monogramme. New Citroën DS3 Cabrio also inherits the sophisticated design of the DS line with a 3D-effect rear light signature and an original tailgate opening mechanism.

A unique version of DS3 Cabrio will be on display in Geneva. The DS3 Cabrio L’Uomo Vogue is the result of an exclusive collaboration with Italian Vogue magazine for men. The model will be auctioned to raise money for the ‘Women Create Life’ project, a scheme developed through the World Health Organisation (WHO), which supports and promotes activities that improve health conditions for women and children. The silent auction will take place at the WHO Headquarters in Geneva on the evening of 6 March, 2013.

Citroën DS3 Racing

With eight WRC Manufacturers’ titles and nine Drivers’ and Co-drivers’ titles for Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, Citroën has left its mark on the history of motorsport. To commemorate the achievement, Citroën is unveiling a bold new version of DS3 Racing at the Geneva Motor Show. Faithful to the Racing spirit, this 2013 edition is even more eye-catching with its matt black bodywork, a new matt gold colour for the roof and special graphics.

The new matt gold can also be seen on the rear spoiler, door mirrors, chevrons and front grille, and inside on the fascia strip and base of the gear lever. The roof graphic is repeated on the dashboard and celebrates the sporting achievements of the Citroën World Rally Team since its inaugural win in 2001.

The latest DS3 Racing also features the new 3D-effect rear lights and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels in matt gold and black.

Citroën DS4 Electro Shot

Citroën is adding a new limited edition DS4 to the range for Geneva 2013 - DS4 Electro Shot. Launched in selected markets specifically to coincide with the Geneva show and based on the DStyle trim, this limited edition introduces the classic two-tone finish of the DS line to the DS4. The model features a gloss black roof and spoiler, and black 17-inch alloy wheels. The new exterior look also features chrome-finished door mirrors.

DS4 Electro Shot is the first Citroën to be produced by the new customisation workshop at the Mulhouse production site - a workshop run by body specialists to satisfy the expectations of DS customers looking for a unique, high-quality product with a high level of customised content.
