  • In 10 years, Citroën’s advancements in engine technology have boosted the fuel economy of its cars by nearly 50% without a drop in performance. Back in 1996, Citroën’s Saxo 1.1i recorded 42.2mpg on the Government’s official combined cycle. Ten years on, the C1 1.0i can stretch a gallon of petrol for 61.4 miles.

  • Citroën’s hi-tech particulate filter systems on the C4, C4 Picasso, Grand C4 Picasso, C5, C6, C8 and C-Crosser Citroën laboratory tests show exhaust emissions from these vehicles to be almost models eliminate soot.   • The intelligent Electronic Gearbox System (EGS) on the C4 1.6 HDi EGS, SX and VTR+ hatchback and on the C4 1.6HDi EGS VTR+ coupe delivers fuel savings of up to 6% and CO2 emissions of just 120g/km.

  • Citroën has no fewer than 23 different models in the everyday Graduated Vehicle Excise Band B (up to 120g/km) which could be exempt from the Congestion Charge if Ken Livingstone’s current proposals are ratified.

  • Clever automated-manual gearboxes (SensoDrive) available on the C2, C3 and C3 Pluriel cut CO2 Citroën laboratory tests show exhaust emissions from these vehicles to be almost emissions by as much as 15% in traffic. Compared with a conventional gearbox, the intelligent SensoDrive system optimises gear changes to maximise fuel economy and therefore reduce CO2 emissions.
