Body structure

Outstanding crash-test results make the Citroën Berlingo the benchmark for safety in its segment. Its reinforced structure and multiple safety features mean that you and your family couldn’t be in safer hands.

Up to six airbags*

The whole family’s safety is a priority with the Citroën Berlingo – it comes with up to six airbags as standard: two at the front, two front lateral airbags standard on XTR and optional on VTR, and two curtain airbags optional on VTR and XTR.

Advanced safety braking*

The Citroën Berlingo has a particularly comprehensive braking system, with two vented discs at the front:

- The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) adjusts braking pressure electronically to stop the wheels locking.
- Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) distributes braking power evenly to all wheels.
- Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA) boosts braking power if you press hard on the brake pedal.

Electronic Stability Programme*

Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) helps you stay in control even in the most difficult conditions by keeping you on course if you skid or lose grip while cornering.

Child safety*

Your smallest passengers are safe and secure in the Citroën Berlingo. It offers:
- anchorage points for fitting Isofix child seats in row 2
- a child surveillance mirror to help you keep an eye on the kids without turning round
- electric safety locks for the rear doors within easy reach of the driver
- Audible driver's seatbelt 'unfastened' warning
