Hearts Race As First Dates Couples Go ‘Speed Dating’ With Citroën

Citroën UK, working with Channel 4’s First Dates, has given three couples blind dates they will never forget. Citroën’s World Rally Championship driver, Craig Breen, was on hand to get their hearts racing in a Citroën C3 on the Brands Hatch rally stage. First Dates’ waitress, CiCi Coleman, served dessert from an iconic Citroën H Van to sweeten them up, but what happened next was down to them. Watch the full video below:

 

 

Citroën UK has treated three blind date couples to the ultimate version of ‘speed dating’, by hosting their first dates while being driven at speed around a rally stage. The special ‘speed dating’ session involved the couples getting to know each other whilst being driven around the Brands Hatch rally stage in a Citroën C3 by World Rally Championship driver, Craig Breen. The activity took place to celebrate the return of Channel 4’s First Dates Hotel on 28 August 2018 and Citroën’s broadcast sponsorship of the series. The hit TV show’s star waitress, CiCi Coleman, was on hand throughout the day to host each of the three couples and serve crêpes from a classic Citroën H Van – after they had been taken around the gravel rally stage.

The C3 supermini has soared in popularity since its launch in January 2017 to become Citroën UK’s best-seller. C3  delivers outstanding design and comfort, inspired by the Citroën Advanced Comfort® programme, and features the world’s first built-in dashcam –ConnectedCAM Citroën® – that was used to video some of the footage for the special First Dates films.

The dating hopefuls were all handpicked by the First Dates’ casting team and, like the TV show, each couple was matched according to similar interests, values and personalities. Three couples attended the special event at Brands Hatch to find out if it was their time to meet ‘The One’.

Citroën UK’s Marketing Director, Souad Wrixen, said; “The partnership between Citroën and First Dates is a perfect match, as we share so many of the same values. We were keen to help create a fun new First Dates experience, and with the help of our Citroën C3 WRC driver Craig Breen, and First Dates’ waitress CiCi, we feel we’ve succeeded in giving three couples a chance to find love on dates they will never forget.

The first couple to arrive was Brand Manager, Ariana, and Recruitment Consultant, Nick. Ariana grew up in a predominantly female household and refers to men as an ‘alien species’ whilst her date, Nick, said he was looking for someone who doesn’t mind being a little bit silly. 

Next up was Personal Trainer, Danny and Hotel Receptionist, Emily. Self-proclaimed lothario Danny claimed he is ready to settle down, while 21-year old Emily was looking for a man who is confident and looks like Zac Efron.

The last couple to arrive was Doggy Day Care owner, James, and Recruitment Consultant, Andrea. James was ready to look for love again, hoping to find someone as spontaneous as himself. Citroën and Channel 4 announced the brand’s two-year sponsorship deal in December last year. It spans multiple series of the popular Channel 4 show First Dates, as well as the spin-off programme, First Dates Hotel. The partnership includes specially created sponsorship idents involving the latest products from the Citroën range, inviting viewers to ‘find love with Citroën and First Dates on 4’. Both Citroën and the First Dates cast pride themselves on being motivated by their customers, which aligns with Citroën’s brand signature ‘Inspired By You’ and makes the partnership a natural fit for both brands.
