This 100% electric van features a fuel cell and rechargeable batteries and is the first Citroën powered by this form of energy. The Citroën ë-Dispatch Hydrogen features the best of both technologies.
With Citroën ë-Dispatch Hydrogen, Citroën extends its LCV electrified range once again to meet the new needs of business users and professionals. Citroën’s entire light commercial vehicle (LCV) range will be electrified by 2021 with ë-Dispatch already on UK roads. In addition, ë-Berlingo Van and ë-Relay will be launching before the end of the year, ensuring every Citroën LCV will be offered with an electrified version.
In response to environmental and social challenges, Citroën in 2021 is implementing a new choice of powertrain with ë-Dispatch Hydrogen. This 100% electric van features a fuel cell and rechargeable batteries and is the first Citroën powered by this form of energy. Thanks to its flexible EMP2 platform, ë-Dispatch Hydrogen easily accommodates this new technology, as well as retaining its useful volume and load capacity and features a useful range of over 248 miles. Its three 700 bar carbon-fibre hydrogen tanks, which sit next to the battery under the front seats, can be filled in just three minutes. It benefits from a 45 kW fuel cell that produces electricity by consuming hydrogen and a 10.5 kWh battery that takes over automatically when the hydrogen tank is empty. The battery is automatically charged using electricity generated by the hydrogen or via a cable at an electric-vehicle charging stations.
Citroën ë-Dispatch Hydrogen is initally being trailed in France and Germany with a view to launch in the UK at a later date.
